Firefly is Whedon his next major TV show that is a huge success. It is likely that she left an impression on viewers, as the one episode that she appeared on led to her becoming a star. Summer Glau's character, River Tam, was a complex character that Glau handled with ease. Tam is forced to participate in government-sponsored experiments that help her become the ultimate assassin. Tam's emotional control was taken away as a direct result. Glau displayed her combat abilities as well as acting skills in Firefly. It was also evident that learning to be an assassin allowed Glau to show off her athletic abilities. Summer Glau has been a ballerina from the age of as a young girl. It was her broken toe but it was her broken toe that brought the end of her dancing career. Firefly was only on for only one season but the show garnered a large fan following. Whedon got so passionate about Firefly that he decided to return two years after. Summer Glau however continued to perform with high-quality.
