She launched her self-titled debut album in the year 2017. It reached the top 3 spot on the U.K. Charts and produced eight singles. This included Be the One I.D.G.A.F, the U.K. Number One Single New Rules as well as the U.K. Number. #1 single New Rules. Her parents are Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha and Dukagjin lipa. Her maternal grandmother is Bosnian. Her ancestry can be traced back to Peja, a city in Kosovo. Her grandparents were both historians and professors. She is the sister of Rina Lipa, and has one younger brother, named Gjin. Lipa was influenced musically by her father who was the guitarist and singer in the Kosovan rock group Oda.
